For over 30 years now about 40 artists have gathered in Mt Eden’s Essex Road Reserve for a few hours on a March Saturday to create and complete artworks that will be auctioned the same day to provide funds for community arts initiatives. This is the Artists in Eden day run by Eden Arts (Maungawhau Mt Eden Community Arts Trust).
I have contributed for many years to this fun event. Most of the artists are responding in some visual and conceptual way to the cultural identity of Mt Eden. Here are many of my responses.
